For vet practices
Claim your listing and confirm your ownership for free
Pet owners use this site to find out who owns their vet. Make sure what it says about your practice is right. If you’re independent, you can confirm it in about two minutes.
Then use the claim button on your practice’s page.
How confirming your ownership works
- 1
Prove you’re the practice. Sign in with an emailed link. The email address on your listing, or one at your own domain, confirms you straight away; otherwise we phone your practice.
- 2
Give us your Companies House number and make one declaration: “No company or investor outside the practice owns or controls it, including through a joint venture.” We first check the number belongs to your practice (by its name, its registered office or your website), so nobody can borrow another company’s.
- 3
We check the register while you wait.
- The people in control are individuals → your listing shows Verified.
- Not on Companies House (partnerships, sole traders), or the register can’t settle it → Reported: stated by the practice itself.
- The register points elsewhere → a person reviews it, usually within 48 hours.
Free and enhanced listings
Enhanced listings are for independent and non-profit practices: £20 a month or £200 a year, per practice (no VAT). Upgrade from the practice portal once you’ve claimed your listing. They change only your own page, in a section labelled “Enhanced listing · information provided by the practice”. Your ownership answer, your place in search and other practices’ listings stay as they are.

What we never sell
- Ownership. It changes only on official register evidence or after a person reviews it. A request or a payment can’t change it.
- Ranking. Search order, the map and comparisons are the same for every practice, paying or not.
- Reviews or endorsements. We don’t rate practices, and nobody can pay us to.
- The “Details confirmed by the practice” tick. It’s the only practice mark in search results, and it’s free.
Questions
- Does it cost anything to claim our listing?
- No. Claiming, proving you’re the practice, confirming your ownership and correcting your details are free for every practice, and always will be.
- How do you know I’m really with the practice?
- If you sign in with the email address on your listing, or any address at your practice’s own website domain, you’re confirmed straight away. Otherwise the portal gives you a six-digit code and we phone the number on your listing to ask for it. Personal email addresses (Gmail, Outlook, BT and so on) only count if they are the exact address on the listing.
- We’re independent but our listing says “Unverified”. Why?
- Because nothing on record proves it yet. Finding no corporate owner doesn’t confirm independence. Give us your Companies House number and we check the register while you wait. If the people in control are individuals, your listing shows as Verified. Partnerships and sole traders aren’t on Companies House, so for them the listing shows the independence as stated by the practice itself (“Reported”).
- Our listing says we’re part of a group, but we aren’t.
- Claim the listing and tell us, with your Companies House number. Changing a practice from corporate to independent is always checked by a person, with the register results attached. We aim to do it within 48 hours.
- We’ve been sold. What do we do?
- Tell us in the portal. A sale to a group we already list updates your page straight away and appears in our public change log; anything else is checked first.
- We run several practices. Can one login manage them all?
- Yes. Claim each practice from its own page while signed in, and they all appear in your portal. Each one is confirmed separately, and enhanced listings are priced per practice, so you only pay for the practices you upgrade.
- Can we show our independence on our own website?
- Yes, free. Once your independence is confirmed against Companies House, the practice portal gives you a “Verified independent” badge to paste into your website. We serve the image, so it stays accurate: if your listing stops being a verified independent, the badge disappears by itself.
- Can a corporate group buy an enhanced listing?
- No. Enhanced listings are for independent and non-profit practices only. Corporate groups are who this site reports on.
- Does paying move us up in search?
- No. Search order, the map and comparisons are identical for every practice. An enhanced listing changes your own page only, in a section labelled as information provided by the practice, below the ownership answer.
- What happens to our enhanced listing if we’re sold to a group?
- Nothing automatic. A person reviews the ownership change; if the practice is no longer independent or non-profit, we’ll contact you and end the enhanced listing at the end of the period you’ve paid for. Your free listing carries on.
- How do we cancel?
- From the practice portal: “Manage billing” opens Stripe’s secure page, where you can cancel, change plan, update your card or download invoices. The listing stays enhanced to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Practice terms
- You may claim a listing only for a practice you work for or represent, and only through an email address you control.
- Declarations you make about your practice’s ownership must be true. If we find a declaration was false, we revoke the account’s access to every practice it manages, undo what the declaration published, and record the correction publicly in our change log.
- Ownership is decided from official registers and our own review. A declaration is evidence we weigh; it does not decide the outcome on its own.
- Corrections you suggest are reviewed before they publish. On an enhanced listing they publish instantly, and we may review and revert them afterwards. We may edit or decline changes, withdraw instant publishing, and remove access at any time.
- We record what each account submits and when, to keep an audit trail of changes to the directory.
Enhanced listings (paid)
- Enhanced listings are available to independent and non-profit practices only, at £20 a month or £200 a year per practice, billed in advance by our payment provider, Stripe. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Promotion codes may apply.
- A subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from the practice portal (“Manage billing”); the listing stays enhanced to the end of the period you’ve paid for. Payments are not refunded, in whole or in part.
- Paying changes only how your own page looks and how quickly your edits publish. It never changes your ownership answer, how it was verified, your position in search, on the map or in comparisons, or any other page.
- If your practice’s ownership changes so that it is no longer independent or non-profit, nothing is cancelled automatically: we review it and may end the enhanced listing at the end of the paid period, with notice by email and no refund.
- What you publish must be accurate, about your own practice, and lawful. Ownership is set from the registers and must not be described in your own words. We may remove or revert anything that breaks these terms and end the enhanced listing without refund.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a few days. If it still can’t be collected, the enhanced listing ends.
