About Who Owns Your Vet?

Who Owns Your Vet? exists to bring transparency to the veterinary services market. We believe pet owners deserve to know who owns their vet and make informed choices about their pet's care.

Why We Exist

The UK veterinary sector has undergone dramatic consolidation over the past decade. Around 60% of veterinary practices are now owned by just six large corporate groups, many backed by private equity firms. This consolidation has raised concerns about:

  • Pricing transparency - Corporate practices may not display prices publicly
  • Ownership clarity - Many practices don't clearly disclose their corporate ownership
  • Competition - The CMA has launched a market investigation into veterinary services
  • Local decision-making - Corporate policies may override local veterinary judgement

Our Mission

Transparency

We clearly identify who owns each practice - whether independent, corporate, or charitable.

Support Independents

We highlight independent practices where decisions are made locally by vets, not corporate boards.

Promote Charities

We feature non-profit organisations like PDSA that provide care for those who can't afford private fees.

Community Driven

Our data is community-contributed and verified. Help us by submitting practices and corrections.
